Welcome

Mission of the Multicultural Committee
Clinical Psychology Program
Argosy University, Schaumburg
Adopted: September 26, 2008
The Multicultural Committee is composed of a Chair, three faculty members and student volunteers, all representing the Clinical Psychology program. This committee facilitates the education of the Clinical Psychology department on multiculturalism, and it’s significance for academic and clinical practice. The committee works to facilitate the integration of multiculturalism into the curriculum at all levels and the development of a visible multicultural connection to the extended community. In addition, this committee provides consultation to the department to ensure representation of diversity among faculty and students. Further, this committee plays a role in helping the community members increase their own awareness of and sensitivity to multicultural issues, and promotes attitudes and values that lead to an appreciation of diversity. This personal awareness, meaningful interactions with diverse populations, and developing specific skills are affirmed as essential to the practice of psychology.
