Student Council Position Descriptions
EXECUTIVE
POSITIONS:
The President position is filled by the Vice-President of Student
Council for the previous school year. See President-Elect
description for more information.
President-Elect: This is a 2-year position. During the first year,
the individual serves as Vice-President of Student Council, who
then becomes President the following year. Primary responsibilities
include: representing the student body, networking with faculty
and administration, attending faculty meetings, overseeing the Student
Council, creating an agenda for each meeting and running the meetings.
Secretary: This is a 1-year position. Primary responsibilities
include: keeping minutes at each meeting, sending email reminders
for meetings, and additional correspondence as necessary.
Treasurer: This is a 1-year position. Primary responsibilities
include: overseeing conference funds, check requisitions, networking
with Argosy's business manager Lei Xie to maintain an account balance,
and following through with the financial decisions made by Student
Council as a governing body. Developing a budget for the year that
is voted on by the Student Council is also a primary duty.
REPRESENTATIVE/CHAIR POSITIONS:
Social Chair: This is a 1-year position. Primary responsibilities
include: planning and coordination of social events for students
involved in all departments of Argosy University. The primary events
in the past have been the Semi-Formal, Summer Social, and Fall Social.
Additional events may be Softball tournaments, Sports outings, and
others as approved by the Student Council as a governing body.
Class Representatives: These are 1-year positions. Each class
has a Representative who is responsible for representing the concerns
and feedback of their academic class.
Counseling, Education, Business, and Undergraduate Representatives:
These are 1-year positions. Each of these individuals is responsible
for representing the concerns and feedback of their department.
Psi Chi Representative: This a 1 year position. This individual
would be responsible for organizing, promoting, and recruiting for
ISPP's Psi Chi chapter to ensure that our school is able to continue
its charter. Must be a self-motivator and someone who is knowledgeable
and/or passionate about Psi Chi, and who is interested in representing
and organizing it for other students. This individual MUST be a current member of Psi Chi, either from undergraduate or graduate
induction.
