Clinical Psychology - Jim Wasner, Ph.D.
Dean of the American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University/Schaumburg and Chair of the Clinical Psychology Programs. He received his PhD in Clinical Psychology from Michigan State University in 1993, and his master's in Social Work from the University of Michigan in 1978. Before joining the faculty of Argosy University (formerly the Illinois School of Professional Psychology, Chicago Northwest) in 1996, Dr. Wasner was the Associate Director of Research and senior staff at the Family Institute, Northwestern University and an adjunct Associate Professor at Northwestern's School of Education and Social Policy. He also has over 30 years experience in administrative, consultive and clinical capacities at several large mental health agencies. Dr. Wasner has coordinated various research projects and has presented nationally in the areas of Family and Couples Therapy, Child Psychotherapy, the Psychology of Men, and Process and Outcome Research in Family Therapy. In addition to his administrative and teaching responsibilities at the Argosy University\Schaumburg campus, Dr. Wasner maintains a small private practice focusing on treatment of families, couples, and individuals, and is on the adjunct faculty of the Family Institute & Center for Applied Psychological & Family Studies at Northwestern University. He also serves on the Accreditation Oversight Team of the School of Psychology and Behavioral Sciences within Argosy University and consults regularly with other campuses on best practices and accreditation issues.
