Blended Classes

Blended courses are offered with an online component to enhance your educational experience and meet weekly contact requirements.  The web-based portion of courses allows for a higher and continued level of interaction among faculty and students.  Discussion boards and live chats may be used to complement your on-campus face-to-face meetings and enrich your educational experience.   The online class space also allows instructors to post a syllabus and other documents they would like to share with the class.  Your syllabus will not be mailed or emailed in advance; you will access your syllabus online.  See the guide below for when to expect course access.

HOW WEB_AUGMENTED COURSES WORK

  • Take the Demo course at http://argosy-class.com to experience the online classroom
  • Login any time during the day/week to access course material
  • Most activity will take place on the discussion board, where you will post messages and participate in ongoing discussion
  • Once you login, you will have access to an Introductory course that will show you the basics of the online classroom that will be important to you (posting to discussion boards, using the mailbox, etc.)

ONLINE PARTICIPATION POLICY

  • Online courses require, at minimum, weekly participation (not just weekly login) by the student unless granted an exception by the instructor.
  • All web-augmented courses begin at the start of each semester or session (BEFORE your first in-class meeting).  Please see your registration bulletin for specific dates.
  • In addition to logging in, students must fulfill weekly contact and participation requirements as outlined by instructors.  Instructors will contact the Department Heads to handle situations of insufficient student participation.  Students who login, but do not participate, may be dropped from online classes at the request of the instructor and/or Department Head.

LOGIN, PASSWORD, AND COURSE ACCESS

  • You will receive your login information by email.
  • Login information and course access is emailed 1 week before the start of the part of term. (If you register later than 2 weeks before the start of the part of term, you will receive your login slightly later.)
